National Museum of American Jewish History partnering with aMuze! Interactive

aMuze! Interactive is working with Philadelphia’s National Museum of American Jewish History (NMAJH) to customize an aMuze! Interactive KnowledgeTrak System that will enable visitors to personalize their museum experience as they move through the three-story exhibition that will chronicle the American Jewish experience.

The Museum’s new building, where the new KnowledgeTrak system is to be installed, is being constructed on Independence Mall, and will open in November 2010. The 100,000–square-foot, five-story building is located directly across from the Liberty Bell, a block south of the National Constitution Center, and one block north of the birthplace of American liberty, Independence Hall.

Currently in the development stage, and once completed and funded, the NMAJH-specific system will provide visitors – on-site at the museum or online around the world – with access to thematic “tracks,” such as “women and gender,” “immigration,” “religious life,” “culture,” and “politics.” The thematic tracks will lead visitors through the museum in a structured manner, empowering them to experience the museum’s content in relationship to their particular interests and allowing for a deeper immersion into the exhibition.

The aMuze! Interactive KnowledgeTrak System will also provide visitors with the opportunity for continued contact with the museum after their visit – enabling them to explore their chosen themes on personal KnowledgeTrak websites, when they return home or to the classroom. These unique websites will allow visitors to access and explore the full range of resources contained within the museum and its collections, as well as to connect to the holdings of partner organizations throughout the United States and the world.

The new Museum, which will serve as a cornerstone of the modern-day American Jewish community, is dedicated to telling the still-unfolding story of Jews in America, who embraced freedom with its choices and challenges as they shaped and were shaped by our nation. The Museum envisions its new home as a place that welcomes all people, inviting them to use the aMuze! Interactive KnowledgeTrak System to discover what they have in common with the Jewish experience in America, as well as to explore the features that make this history distinctive.

The National Museum of American Jewish History has received a grant from the Barbro Osher ProSuecia Foundation to support the installation of the aMuze! Interactive KnowledgeTrak System.
